A Thank You on behalf of Moose

Dear Take Away The TearsMoose helped by Take Away The Tears

Thanks to all your supporters for helping us with Moose….he is not technically a Snoopy Rescue Dog as he was another UK rescue’s dog who sadly turned their back on his Mummy so we stepped in to help 😀

His Mummy is such a wonderful lady, Moose had his surgery at Fitzpatricks and did need some additional surgery, the operation was never going to be easy albeit life saving.

He is much better now but bless him will never be 100% perfect, but he doesn’t know that! A happy really loving boy….xx

Fun Dog Show Special Guest Roo the Romanian Rescue and her new wheels!

FUN DOG SHOW SPECIAL GUEST ROO

Living on the streets of Romania, little Roo was struggling to survive.  Born with only three legs and tragically losing another leg soon after birth, she was using her hind legs to move about when British charity Safe Rescue For Dogs swept in to help her.

Adopted by Nikki and Ian Dick of Morpeth13731627_542880332566788_3377053264623123944_n in Northumberland, Roo has gone from strength to strength.  Over the last couple of months she has been learning to steer her new wheels.

xxxx ROMANIA APPEAL xxxx

Those that came to the dog show last year know that we had a collection of goods that we sent to Romania to help the strays and those dogs in pounds, survive the devastating winter cold. Dogs do literally freeze to death both on the street and in the municipal pounds.

We are doing the same this year and we are therefore looking for donations of the following:

Old quilts and pillows
Warm sheeting
Warm towels
Warm throws etc.
Dog coats and jumpers
Dog beds – soft or hard
Dry or wet dog food & treats

We will also happily accept anything else that makes the life of the dogs easier, such as old but undamaged toys, collars, leads, feed bowls etc.

These can be dropped off at the Fun Dog Show on the 4th September or can be dropped off beforehand at one of the following locations;

North Shields – Jacana Limited, 75-79 Howard Street, NE30 1AF
Wideopen – Elite Garden Centre & Pet Supplies, NE13 6LW
Morpeth – Four paws hydrotherapy, Unit 9, Whitehouse Farm Centre NE61 6AW

Held in the same field as last year, there’ll be a good selection of stalls, competitions and demonstrations, as well as catering vans, free parking and onsite toilets.

Supervet Intervention, Vaccinations and Neutering Programmes

Here’s a round up of how you’ve helped us to make a positive difference to dog welfare already, including:

  • Supporting the treatment of Moose who was referred to TV’s Supervet, Noel Fitzpatrick when he arrived from Romania with a potentially terminal condition
  • Regular small payments for feed and vaccinations to carefully selected ‘hands-on’ dog rescuers in Cyprus and Romania, who have dedicated their lives to caring for street dogs which are likely to never be homed
  • Supporting the insulin treatment of an older rescue dog to give precious extra time for a forever home to be found
  • Working with WeCare Worldwide to sponsor ongoing neutering and rabies vaccination programmes, saving thousands of dogs from being born and hundreds more from future misery
