Providing support, wherever in the world it’s needed, to help relieve the mental and physical torture that so many rescue dogs endure every day of their lives.
Take Away The Tears was set up in July 2015 by Sue Nuttall to help those rescue dogs most in need to get a second chance at a life in which they are looked after and loved. All funds raised are used to help neglected, abused and abandoned rescue dogs and cats in Cyprus, by supplying the volunteers who rescue and rehabilitate them with much-needed food, medication, equipment and monetary support.
A dog lover for many years, and canine mum to Bea and Molly, Sue was moved to take action in December 2014 when she saw a post on Facebook which her friend Karen Elliott had shared. The post was from Love Cyprus Dog Rescue.
Seeing how badly dogs are often treated in Cyprus, Sue pledged to do something about it. Karen had already rescued the beautiful dog Flower.
Sue’s first step was committing to bring Maggie, a 2 year old Black Labrador to the UK in February 2015. In July 2015, 2 year old Yellow Labrador x Retriever Silvi flew in from Cyprus to join Sue growing canine family.
In 2016, Muscade and Lara joined the fun.
Now best of friends, you can read their stories here:
In March 2017, Sue Nuttall was invited to attend the Dogs Trust Worldwide International Training Programme in London. She attended workshops held by leading experts in education, running a shelter, dog behaviour, fundraising strategies and much more.
Help us support dogs like Maggie, Silvi, Muscade and Lara by coming along to support our fund-raising events.
On behalf of all our canine friends, THANK YOU!
