Providing support, wherever in the world it’s needed, to help relieve the mental and physical torture that so many rescue dogs endure every day of their lives.

Take Away The Tears was set up in July 2015 by Sue Nuttall to help those rescue dogs most in need to get a second chance at a life in which they are looked after and loved.  All funds raised are used to help neglected, abused and abandoned rescue dogs, cats and other animals, by supplying the volunteers who rescue and rehabilitate them with much-needed food, medication, equipment and monetary support.

Here are some of the contributions we’ve made recently:
  • Small animal rescues organisations, near us and across the UK, received food and supplies when their donations dried up because of the cost of living crisis
  • Food Banks have been grateful for our distribution of donated pet food to help people feed their pets. We’ve directly helped families who can’t afford to feed their pets.
  • Ukraine War Several containers of pet food and equipment were sent to Ukraine to help animals displaced by the war.
Sue’s project escalated over the years and we became a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation in October 2021. Read the story of how Take Away The Tears was born read more
Perhaps the best way to understand the impact of our work is from the recipients themselves;

“Thank you so much to Sue Nuttall and the fabulous group Take Away The Tears for the donations received on the latest shipment. A mammoth undertaking, a 40ft container filled to bursting, full of goodies for a number of supported rescues here…” Read more
